Why I love Melbourne

Hi there

Thanks for dropping by.

I have fallen for Melbourne town all over again.

It started last Sunday, with Chitra’s Closet’s Spring Soiree.

The lady in the sunnies is the fabulous Chitra Mangma herself.  The day of the soiree was beautiful – tiny cupcakes, beautiful jazz and a gorgeous collection. The Melbourne-love swelled because it’s such a pleasure walking into the Sydney Road store to kiss hello the lady herself and have her fashion advice (i.e. buy the collection!).  I love that in Melbourne the designer’s in the store, knows your name and is just generally ace. I love that she makes kickass-cut-pants.

Speaking of fabulous… Tuesday I went to meet my lovely friend and old performing cohort.  6:30pm outside Nova he said.  I arrived to this scene…

My friend is none other than Frank Lee Darling and if you look carefully behind that slate coloured vehicle, it’s a couple dancing in the street to his crooning (That’s Amore). Swells the heart!

Finally, I received some advice from a toilet. Sure, it didn’t smell good, but cheaper than therapy…

And why does that make me love Melbourne? Well, I like to think we’ve got some of the most intelligent graffiti in the world (granted, this may not be the best example, in fact, on reflection, it could actually indicate an unfortunate discovery of a burning sensation, however the romantic in me prefers to ignore that possibility).
